Hartsfield Named SCAC Defensive Player of the Week

SUWANEE, Ga. - Austin College volleyball player Madisin Hartsfield has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week following a quartet of outstanding performances as the 'Roos went 3-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play, the league office has announced.

Hartsfield, a first-year middle blocker from Sherman, totaled 20 total blocks for an average of 2.0 blocks per set, including 11 blocks in conference matches for an average of 1.57 per set. She had a high of nine total blocks against No. 2-ranked ETBU and followed that up with eight total blocks, including three solos, in a five-set win over division-leading Hendrix to close out the regular season. Hartsfield finishes the regular season as teh SCAC leader in block solos, block assists, total blocks, and blocks-per-set in her first collegiate season.
