'Roos Fall to No. 15-ranked Southwestern
GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team dropped a 7-1 road contest against No. 15-ranked Southwestern University on Saturday evening, as the Pirates broke things open with a five goal second half to hand the 'Roos the defeat. Austin College is now 1-3-1 overall this season.

GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team dropped a 7-1 road contest against No. 15-ranked Southwestern University on Saturday evening, as the Pirates broke things open with a five goal second half to hand the 'Roos the defeat. Austin College is now 1-3-1 overall this season.
After 30 scoreless minutes to open the first half, Southwestern tallied twice in a 93 second span to go on top 2-0 as Cooper Pero scored at the 30:27 mark, and Grey Richards found the back of the net just over a minute and a half later. That remained the score through halftime, until Austin College got on the scoreboard in the 51st minute of play on a goal by Richard Perez.
However, Southwestern scored three times in the next nine minutes, starting with a goal from Raghav Sharma in the 57th minute, followed by a tally from Quinn MacLeod in the 58th minute and another goal from Sharma in the 60th minute to make it a 5-1 game.
The Pirates added goals from Diego Muller at the 69:28 mark and one final score from Chase Johnson in the 83rd minute to make it a 7-1 final. Southwestern finished the game with a 25-13 edge in shot attempts, putting 17 on target compared to four shots on goal for the 'Roos. Jayson Baldwin made 10 saves in goal for Austin College.
