Max Wade joins the Austin College water polo coaching staff as the Assistant Coach for both the men’s and women’s programs, bringing a strong background as both a decorated student-athlete and an experienced coach at the collegiate, club, and national levels.

A 2023 graduate of Austin College with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Kinesiology, Wade was a standout member of the Kangaroo men’s water polo team. During his playing career, he was a three-time Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Division III All-American, a 2022 MPSF First Team All-Conference selection, and the recipient of the Austin College Water Polo “CAP15” Award, a peer-voted honor recognizing character, leadership, and work ethic. He also earned MPSF Academic All-American honors in 2022.

Following graduation, Wade earned his Master of Science in Health and Human Performance from Salem University, where he also served as a graduate assistant coach for the men’s and women’s water polo programs. His coaching experience includes serving as an assistant with the University of the Pacific men’s water polo team, head coaching roles with Dallas Mavericks Water Polo, Pegasus Water Polo, and Thunder Water Polo, and coaching with USA Water Polo’s Olympic Development Program.

In addition to his coaching experience, Wade brings expertise in video analysis, scouting, and athlete development, with a strong emphasis on performance preparation and statistical data driven strategizing.

Wade is committed to developing student-athletes both in and out of the pool, with a focus on technical growth, competitive readiness, and leadership.
